Launched in September 2025, ending in March 2026, Three Ravens went international for the first time - across the land border, to Wales!

England's nearest and closest neighbour, Wales was integrated into England by Henry VIII's Laws in Wales Acts in 1535, which created a new map of thirteen Welsh counties whose legal systems were unified with England's.

These historic counties no longer really exist, with political reforms care of the Welsh parliament, which was founded in 1999, redrawing administrative areas - often based on names and boundaries rooted in the myth-soaked Welsh Kingdoms of the Medieval era.

But when did historic counties no longer existing ever stop us before?!

Following the same format as Three Ravens series 3-6, County Episodes are released on Mondays, and on each we discuss the heritage, folklore and folktales of that week's county, identify the "Treasure of Wales" from the area, and welcome our Local Legends guests - authors, podcasters, storytellers and historians with special links to the area.

Then, and most importantly, we take turns to retell one of the historic county's most famous folktales, and discuss what it might imply at the end of each episode...

Stories this series include, "The Cauldron of Awen", "A Howl of Wind in the Castle of Crows", "Winter's Eve", "Davies and the Devil", "The Toads of Nevern", "A Boat Full of Witches", "The Conjurer's Hand" and "Gelert" - with more yet to come!
